Default Trouble Code U2100 - 1999 LS400

Does anyone have experience or knowledge on the trouble code U2100 "Tilt and Telescopic Code"?

I have had my 1999 LS400 for almost 8 years now, and throughout the entire time the steering wheel power tilt function has worked flawlessly, but the telescopic feature has never worked at all.
There are records on drivers.lexus.com that the TSB regarding the steering wheel motor update (TSIB ST003-00) was performed in August 2000, so no issue there. Also the motor is completely silent and smooth when tilting.

Does this U2100 trouble code indicate possible CANBUS damage/malfunction?... or maybe it means that the previous owner used Lexus Personalized Settings (LPS) / C-BEST to disable the telescoping feature?

Basically, any insight to U2100 is greatly appreciated!

The code U2100 is quite vague. It only indicates a failed CAN bus signal lines. When the line is short-circuited or opened at somewhere, the code U2100 is stored but it is not easy to find out the exact failed point without using a special equipment called time-domain reflectometer (TDR). Of course it is possible to find the point checking all the lines and units connected to the line but it is a quite time consuming job. We engineers use a TDR to know how far the failed point exists from the measuring point checking the standing wave.

Regarding the telescopic issue, I have no idea to judge just only reading the post. The judgment needs to check the actual waveform or to read the status of the LPS table.
