Default Remote start install?

Anyone have any experience with a remote start install in ls400? Thinking about installing drone mobile autostart to warm the car up in the coming winter months.

There was third party kit used to be for LS400 (google em), I have found and it appears that the shop decided to shut the product and they no longer produce them. I tried ebay and no luck. Since lexus has a complicated security system make sure your independent shop covers the security system while doing the job.

it's easier on the older models but harder on the newer models due to the added security systems/immobilizer.
it's not impossible but there are some bypassing that needs to be done.
what year car are you looking into installing a remote start?

2000. I've taken to one shop already. Drone mobile is a cool system to start the car with your cell phone but you have to pay a monthly subscription. Also need to sacrifice a key that stays in the car.

Not sure if defroster/heat will stay on when you turn off the car while those systems running and start it up again. Have to test that out...

correct you have to keep a key in the car (under the dash) to disable the immobilizer.
as for the defroster, it automatically turns off when the car turns off as it's default setting when starting the car is off. it can only be turned on by a button push.

the HVAC will stay at it's last setting before the car was turned off.
sidenote: I believe the heater mix valve resets to fully closed no matter what when shutdown - you can hear it move a few seconds after removing the key, but goes back to the setting of the HVAC when turned on again.

Just a sidenote if you leave your HVAC settings on when you turn the car on it will put a strain on your alternator
