Smile Remote Engine Starter Kit for LS400??

Will a remote engine starter work on a 1997 Ls400? If so, where would you suggest I have it installed?

any reputable installation place will be able to do that installation since the schematics of the electrics are not much different from the camry with few exceptions.
I would suggest you shop around for the best price. It should be in the ballpark of 180-250 depending upon the unit you choose and the shop's rates.

Has anyone done it and have it work with the standard key remote. I dont carry a keychain, just my regular one peice Key/Remote. I would hate to have to carry a seprate remote for the starter. I do so much want remote start!!!

Horta, try calling Luxury Motor Works in California to inquire about the "LuxLink Remote Starter" if you don't want a separate remote.

WOW I just got off the phone with Luxerymotorworks and what a product. Its so simple and I can install it myself. All you do is press Lock three times on your exsisting remote and the car starts. It cant get better than that. $198 so not to expensive either. This will be a Xmas gift for me from my wife. She doesnt know it yet!!!

Thank you so much SharpLS

and it was great untill one day when he used it and after the car
started it rolled into the lake at the guys house.after that he said we
will not carry the product

As to the performance parts, all that we will sell is whats at

Bill

I just sent the email below to my wife for a xmas gift idea. Have you
ever heard of this product? Does Lexus have any positive OR negative
opinions about it?

Jerry

As long as the car is in "P" with the emergency brake on the cars not going to move.
I wouldn't worry about it, that guy must have left his car in neutral without the emergency brake engaged for it to roll into a lake.

And if that's the case, it would've rolled into the lake with or without the remote start.... sounds like owner negligence to me, not a faulty product liability. I'm planning on getting the remote start as well, just as soon as I get the remote

Tonight I just put my LS in for its 55k service. The service guy laughed about the car rolling into the lake. He did say that this owner did not have the remote start we are discussing but just remote start in general. I am also going to get it but for X-mass.

Oh wow, thanks Shap_LS and Jerry for the great info, and seems like a great product. Wonder if you can add-on more features like closing all windows when you hold the lock button instead of the panic feature or something.

Anyhow, it sounds like a great idea, would the car move without a key in the ignition? I think I’m interested

Maybe we can arrange a group buy if we have enough interest.

LMW's pays to advertise here on CL with banners etc I believe so you might try telling them your a member of CL and see if they will discount it more for you.
I believe a group buy requires a minimum of 10 or so orders usually, PM a moderator if you like.

I checked out the LMW website, but they didn't list the LS. Is it the same as the GS400?
