Default Ls 450

Here's Popular Mechanics, September 2003 issue.

They got the GX 470 right...and before anyone else, but this is a computer generated image here.

Looks like the GS and LS and the ES had a mutant baby...Not that that's a bad thing, though.

edit: Full article to follow..

Avaialable in late 04 just one year after the facelift ?

That looks like green illustration previously posted.
Don't like it and don't think it'll be used. It just doesn't look LS at all.
And I don't think Toyota is going to make another facelift that soon.

According to PM they will. Joy in the GS camp as the 450 should show up in the GS as well.

Man...I hope that's just a well-photoshopped ES300...
I just don't see how that design will appeal to LS's targeted market (i.e. the conservative type).

A lot of the lines aft of the B-pillar remind me of the Italdesign first-gen, GS. I expect some similarities between this pic and the infamous green drawing to what the 05 GS turns out to look like. I doubt it'll look as radical as the one based off the HPX concept. As for the LS, I doubt Lexus would have an all-new model until at lest '06. But a new engine in the 4th year definitely fits the usual Lexus cycle.

Really want to see it in the flesh. Just can't get a handle on the proportions from the picture, especially one that may have had some retouch on it. That roofline may take away some rear seat headroom but otherwise, yeah, I think I like it. Instead of having two GSs in the garage, one may become a LS if the design is close and the mechanicals are as represented in the article.

dude, look closely at it. it's photoshopped. the back of the car along with the rear doors is a GS.

The article that accompanies that pic in popular mechanics says that it is a "computer enhanced" pic of what the new LS "may" look like... the picture doesn't really matter much because it is just an "idea".. what gets me is according to the article, this totally new LS should come out next year.. THAT doesn't make sense and I wonder where popular mechanics is getting their info.

Thanks dude, but that rear quarter doesn't look like the two GS's I have in my garage. Maybe it looks like your 1998 GS430?

Don't know where they got the rear quarter from, I actually thought the thing looked like an S class meets a Q45 and winds up with an SC grill and that sounds awful, but I think it looks pretty interesting and the most individual LS design yet. It is well noted that PM mentioned that it is a conception and who knows what it will look like and when it will be? But the engine info is very interesting, also possibly computer enhanced, but interesting nonetheless.
