My 98 Celsior's navigation system has been working fine for the past 20 years except incandescent bulbs. I think I can fix the unit when failed as long as parts are available. To me the only big problem I had was the outdated map data. Since there was no way to update it, I decided to use an additional latest unit which is very thin as below. This looks to disturb the front view but the highest point is just as high as the top of the hood and it doesn't cause any problem to me.
As far as I know hearing from other Celsior owners, some of the units have a starting up problem or no response issues when it's extremely cold like -10 degrees C or so. I still do not have those problems yet but I think I can fix those simply analysing the power regulation and the power on resetting circuit inside. The highest possibility would be aged electrolytic capacitors since they tend to work poorly when cold after aged due to the reason that the capacitance is decreased and the impedance is increased.

Yep! Happy to report that the Navigation works perfectly. Touchscreen shows no signs of posing any issues.
I know this is an old post, but is there any chance you still own the car and the LCD still works?
I just bought one everything is great, except it doesn't display anymore but its still possible to control it. I haven't been able to find a good source for how to navigate through all the menus, maybe you could help me out?

Yes, I still have it, Just did the timing belt and water pump & thermostat and crankshaft seal on it last weekend. I usually leave my screen off all the time to prevent the screen from failing by leaving it on all the time. But I also have a backup spare unit I found in a salvage yard with 104k in case mine does.
