Idle speed problem
My 1991 LS-400 has been working well since I replaced the Capacitors per "All my crazy Lexus problems Solved".
Recently had some work done by a very reliable Toyota trained but not Lexus mechanic, who replaced the oil pan (big dent), Timing chain and rocker arm covers (leaking). Ever since then, my Lexus has been idling at what I think is too high a speed, especially cold (1300+-). Even when warm its around 1000. I thought the Engine Computer would adjust it as needed but this seems too high (and outside of my recollection as to what it was before). Any suggestions as to things I should look for to fix this?
Thanks, John

If original, your ECT sensor is expired. Inspect the engine harness plastic connector shell.
Thermostat is probably tired.
Coolant is full?
Idle up steering control valve vacuum lines are connected?
