Default Replacement Tanabe Coilover Lower Bushing

I'm looking into purchasing a set of Tanabe coilovers, used, that have worn out lower bushings. Does anyone have an idea to where I can get replacements?

Do they make upgraded bushings out of polyurethane so they won't wear out as easily?

this isn't a common item. If tanabe USA doesn't carry it you need to contact a suspension rebuilder like Feal suspension to get their input.

Ok, good, because I can't pass up on this deal. This guy is letting all 4 go for $250 so I figure the hassle to replace those would be worth it. He said approx mileage on these was 40k

lol, could very well be a waste of money. Old coilovers that aren't easy to source parts for (thus very limited in rebuildability) are nearly worthless. About equivalent to buying a pair of used OEM shocks that are on the verge of blowing.

Check with Feal as to if the set you want are even rebuildable.

Yeah, ended up being a bad deal. I went, bought them, took them home to clean them up and found out the LF shock was completely blown and the RF was leaking oil like crazy. Tanabe uses sealed KYB shocks with threaded shock bodies for their coilovers, so 100% non-rebuildable. Plus these had a date stamp on them from 2006, so they were old as dirt and most likely discontinued by now. so no chance in getting any replacement parts from Tanabe.

Took them back to the guy and luckily I was able to get all my money back.

I think I'll save up for a set of K Sports or something and not deal with other people's junk.

I would recommend Megan (My set of LP street was the 2nd or 3rd batch made back in '08-09 I think) and have been great.

whoa dodged that bullet, and lesson learned. most used coilovers, esp from japan and from a heavy sedan like ours, is always a gamble. just look at the hardware, if rusted, i can guarantee it's from an area that saw snow which is not good. universal bushings can be purchased to fit if you get the dimensions.

i personally have BC coilovers and have been great as well, and i'm on air which uses more of the shock travel that just springs alone (ie when i air down fully).
