Bought a 93 ls400 on craigslist for $800 bucks. Guy who sold it to me said it had a "miss" when it got hot. I tried to duplicate it before I bought it but since it ran perfect I figured it must be something fixable or electrical if it's running great now. Guy said he replaced the ECU, maf, and did whole cap/rotor/plugs/wires. Ran perfectly all the way home and the next few days. Driving home home a week or so later and all of a sudden I get a loss in power and limp it home running really rough with the SES light on.

I don't think he swapped the ECU it looks too clean in that area.

Saw a thread about the trunk hinge wires so I went ahead and did that. No luck.

Pulled wire covers and saw the maf, cap, and wires look brand new so I swapped in new coils. No luck.

I had a Walbro 255 left over from a project car I didn't use so I slapped that in. No luck.

I tried reading the codes per http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html but mine flickers inconsistently.

Any suggestions?

I have something on my car called TOYOBD1. It makes it so my android phone connects to my 1993 LS400 and I found that my O2 sensors were turning on and off while driving causing my car to dump gobs of E85 and then it made it miss like a alabama hooker at the dentist.

Lemme get some screenshots of this system.

Where did you get the toyota obdi connector? Bluetooth I assume?

What was the fix on yours? O2?

Its a small box built by a guy in Quebec actually lol

Yeah that and my timing belt tensioner broke. Which caused the bank 2 rotor to skip the cam gear and it was a mess. Finally got it all sorted.

Decided to investigate the ECM further and pulled it out. Dang screws are stripped so someone tried to get in it.

Sent it to Lscowboyls to redo the caps.

Thats the guy to do it. Him and John Heard do a good job. Both REALLY picky.

I don't have any input to your problem but was wondering if you bought the black on on the east side? I saw it up for sale but the problem scared me. It looked like a nice car.

One thing I do have to say is I bet that computer was a used one that was swapped in or a hack did the work. Good luck finding the issue. If you take it to a shop you should look up Craig Automotive. They are a customer of mine and they are a stand up place. I'm going to take mine over to him to have the idle straightend out.

It was the one on the east side.

Computer case screws internally and externally were stripped. Hack job repair had been attempted with only 3 replaced and they used crap caps and did a TERRIBLE job. Lscowboy said it's probably in his top 5 worst and he doesn't know how it even ran. Should have the ECU back soon.

Does he test them? There could be other things that were goofed up.

If they hacked everything else on it that you can see, then they could have caused ESD damage. By testing I mean put it in a car, unless the fix it place has some sophisticated testing computer to run the various tests on them, just like the factory would have done. I don't know about the main places that work on the ECU's but places like Tanin and I would think LScowboy to would only be able to do the caps and visual things that need fixing.
