Default Corner Running Lights?

Is there a way to add running lights to the corner lenses next to the fog lights on the UCF20s like on the mid -00s 4Runners? I passed a 4Runner the other day with some yellow lights in that location and thought it might look good on my car. Any input would be appreciated. I searched and came up with nothing.

There was a tutorial on this forum something like 13 years ago on how to drill out the back of the dummy light housings and wire in 5W bulbs using bulb holders that are held in place by friction. I think that thread was lost with many others when Club Lexus had a major meltdown.

Supposedly, these dummy light units were originally planned to be the front side marker lights but were disallowed due to their being below a height minimum. The attached photo showing them used as front side markers is from an early 1998 LS400 brochure.

If you remove the dummy lamp units you will see that the originally planned bulb location is marked and, if I remember correctly, something like "5W Max" is stamped on the rear of the housing.

The tutorial I mentioned involved drilling a hole for a 5W bulb holder - a type that is held in place by springy clips. I think the poster of the tutorial bought the bulb holders at Pep Boys but I found similar bulb holders at a local auto parts store. I thought about doing the mod and had a hard copy of the tutorial but I think I either passed the hard copy on or threw it away when I sold my 2000 LS400 last April. The reason I didn't do the mod was that I didn't think it would provide much if any benefit.

I also looked into installing the JDM corning lamp units and wiring them up to work properly. The corning lamp units are much deeper and hold 21W bulbs. The corning light units seem to be more readily available and at far lower prices than I found them 10+ years ago. The part number for the right side is 81361-50010 and is 81390-50011 for the left side - about US$60 each online.

It's not really a project per se. Two screws to tackle per side. Parallel tap ground and positive. Easy peasy. An hour tops.
