How to remove sunvisor?

I've read that injecting a small amount of expanding foam around the shaft can tighten it up. On the bad one, I just pull out on the visor and that seems to tighten it up too, but that's not a very permanent fix. I don't know what is inside that lets them loosen up. It should have been a recall, or at least they should offer new updated versions for free to us diy types. I don't think there are any parts to fix them, just replace, and there may still be some available but you would not always get the color your looking for. If I was going to try to inject something around the rod I don't think I would use that foam, it may bulge something too much. Maybe some kind of rubbery stuff, and you would want to keep moving it a bit as it dry's so it doesn't seize it.

Thank for the info. For mine I have to push the vosr shaft back up into the roof for it to work temporarily. I dont believe the expanding foam will work for me. Seems like you've researched about as far as you can before performing the repair. I wish I knew what may need to be replaced on my '90 LS400 visor before taking it all apart. Ebay probably sells visors (generation I only? or can gen II work?) but i wonder if it comes with the part that typically fasils on these visors? Thanks again.

You can take all that stuff off and still drive it with it all off, that way you have time to figure out the fix. If its a legal thing to have a sunvisor then use a piece of card board and a magnet for the temporary condition.
