Default dome light

92 ls400, when taking the plastic dome light cover off, do you have to remove the whole assembly or can the plastic cover be the only thing takened off. i noticed on the plastic cover one small notch on the edge. i got a screwdrive in there and pryed alittle but it seemed like the plastic cover was anchord pretty good and i thought if keep prying on it i was going to break the plastic.

so is there a trick to removing the plastic cover?

thanks for the help.

shimmy up a flathead, not a screwdriver. keep advancing up while extending the plastic cover off. that would remove 1 clip. Then slowly slide to the right and act as if there was an identical notch on the right side 2 inches to the right of the first "notch" that would remove the second clip. You should be good to go.
