Default Seat belt comparability

Just checked Lexus part numbers, 95-00 use the same part number for seatbelts and buckles! this is great news for me as i dont have to hunt for 98-00 only.

a quick FYI!

well im kind of confused. PN shows the same even for a 90, but the picture is clearly different... so is it compatible or not?

MY APOLOGIES:
just realized the short code is the same but the actual PN is different

2000: 73220 50101(G0) bracket part is color code
1996: 7322050082B0

As you found out, they are not directly compatible. I went through this with ours and the beige/tan belts are long bye-bye.

which years are not compatible? between 90-94 and 98-00, or 95-97 and 98-00?

The discussion was with a Japan Toyota parts dept in Nagoya. Their part #'s are different and the DOT spec to JDM he was unsure if the mechanism would be compatible for the US spec Lexus. He had part #'s for the 95 to 7-97 Celsior but not in tan. MC~ he had all the colors available but the part # was different so he didn't advise my trying due to the safety aspect.

This echos what the local dealer parts guy just told me, he said different part# from '96 and the '99. Based on that, I would consider the ~MC and MC~ as not being compatible. The later '97's that had side air bags might be an exception with the 98+. I'd have to call back to verify.

Yes i do believe 98-00 is specific, 95-97 spec, and 90-94 specific.

I do however have a tan driver belt (for a 98-00) if anyone needs it! still hunting for a black one

The black belts should be readily found new. That was the one color my parts guy mentioned for '96-00. That was what I bought as spares if the need arises for the pre-tensioners with a belt/web swap.

I knwo you can find them new, but for 200 bucks..then add another 70 or so for the matching buckle.

I bought the rears with buckles and passenger with buckle for 300$ shipped from TLS, however someone sniped the driver belt before me.
