Alright i just bought an 1991 ls400 now the only problem with it is the fan coming from the motor doesnt stay in. from what iv heard the bracket is bad but not a 100%.the owner told me that when he was driving it the fan slip forward causing the belt to come off. his mechanic said it was the bracket $300 so isnstead of replacing it he just drilled a whole and rigged a wire to tire and hold it in there worked for a little while but happened again and now its my problem any ideas on what could be causing it?
you can get the original Aisin fan bracket by going around the Lexus dealership and buying direct from the company who built it - that's how I would solve it for about $125 to my door and about an hours work.
the part number is FBT-001 - available at amazon or ebay and other places online
awesome bro thanks just ordered it 2 day shipping should have her running soon also on the pulley it has a 10 on it then there is a gauge that has a few lines 10 and a 0 assuming when i install it i need to turn it till the 10 in the pulley and the 10 on the metal gauge thing line up
you can confirm the part number by going on sewell lexus parts. they have all the expoded view diagrams of every piece of the car.
Sewell Lexus will not be the place to confirm the part number, as this is an Aisin part number, not a Toyota or Lexus part number - and yes, it is the correct part number!
The cowboy doesn't post incorrect part numbers!

woops missed hte part of it being an Aisin number.
if the drive belt flies off violently, it can hurt things, but nothing is hurt by just running the car without the belt for short while, you just do not have charging, A/C, power steering or a fan!
