Default Headlights won't work.

I got aftermarket HIDs in my LS400 that came with it, all of a sudden both headlights and fogs won't turn on. I checked the fuse box and seen that one headlight fuse is popped. I want to know if just one headlight fuse will disable the whole headlight system.

Also, when I twist my headlight switch to the on position, the indicator does not turn on. However I did notice the headlights and highbeams work ONLY when I pull the stalk back towards me, not engaged in the forward position...

This is weird.

Well, your first step to finding this out would be to replace the blown fuse and see. If they still don't work, you're going to have to look deeper; wiring etc.

A blown fuse will make your fogs not turn on, even if its just one side headlight that have the blown fuse. Also if you are installing aftermarket hid plug and play, try flipping the big harness clip around on the ballast. Another thing is, we're the hid purchase as new? It could possibly be a bad ballast which I have happened to me before, it will pop the fuse every time I hook up that ballast and turn on head light

if you have a blown fuse, you have to find the wiring fault, just replacing the fuse is not a good plan. Fuses don't blow for no reason. Take it to someone else, whoever wired this up doesn't know what they are doing.

Disconnect the HID and put some original halogen bulbs in and see. If the fuse blows then, the factory harness is shorting somewhere. If not, then the obvious culprit is the HID install.

I don't know what kind of kit you have installed. In Japan I kept installing the cheaper ones (the good kits were like $500-$600). I found that the ballasts can go bad frequently. When they do they cause the fuse to blow. If you keep blowing fuses check the ballasts. When mine went bad it was causing the wires around the ballasts to fry.

Posted this right before I went to work, just got home from work... I don't know where the kit came from, it was installed on the car. I have no idea if it's plug and play or wires spliced in as I have no idea what the factory plugs even look like...

I would rip it out and get an HID kit from ddmtuning website, they are cheap, are very good quality and have lifetime warranty. Plug and play install. You never know what kind of cheap **** people are using these days off craigslist.

Google it if you don't believe me.

OP it sounds like you need to trace out that aftermarket system, rip it out, and start from scratch.
