Part ID Help Fuel Leak
The round thing on top of the fuel rail is leaking. It is not the hoses that I can see but where the round thing attaches to the nut that looks to screw on to the fuel rail. Not sure what that thing is called. Does anyone know if it can be tightened? Is is hard to replace. Is there alot of pressure on those rubber hoses if I pull one off? Thanks in advance! It is the fuel pressure regulator! Anyone ever change one? Thanks again.

yes, the fuel pressure regulator is under pressure, hence the name! - so when you work on it, it will get a little messy - just make sure you have the car off and negative battery cable disconnected, and gas cap removed and the static pressure from the pump will be low, but be prepared for about a cup or so of gas to get all over the floor.
the fuel pressure regulator itself is likely leaking, though it could also be a fuel line (hose) attached to it
you will most likely be replacing it, it is not too difficult if you have some experience turning wrenches.
when the job is complete, please do a very good search for gas leaking from the new installation from something loose, have negative battery connected and car in run position with all dash lights lit when doing inspection (fuel pump on)
and no smoking when working on fuel system! - Good Luck!

As PD says, what year is your LS?
From what I can see it is leaking at the threaded section, there should be a seal washer present, has the part been removed previously and refitted without the washer?

Thanks
Thanks all,
Yep it is the regulator, i'm sure it's original. Odd that they couldn't make this one solid piece? It's leaking between what appears to be the nut that the regulator itself sits on. I'm going to buy a fire extinguisher prior to replacing this. I replaced the TB and all the seals, so this should be in my realm of doing. Looks like all you do is pull the vacume hose, fuel hose, and unscrew?
