you know you can get access to, and read, and download page by page, the real factory service manual that the dealership uses to troubleshoot and repair your car, directly from Toyota, for only $15 for a 2-3 day unlimited pass

Exclamation LS400 Still Not Running

1994 Lexus Ls400
140,000 miles

Replaced:
starter
Intake gaskets
Spark Plugs
Spark plug wires

Before I replaced Spark plugs we had it started on Starting Fluid and it ran fine.
So I drained most of the bad gas out and added in about half a tank.

Still would crank up and run on its own, so I got spark plugs. After installed it tried to run a lot better without starting fluid but now it sounds like it runs on only a few cylinders with the starting fluid.
I then got spark plug wires and still nothing.

It seems like its almost getting further away from trying to run.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Ive be over it several times and now I have no clue, every plug and vacuum line is on correct. Plug wires are in order. Im getting fuel, and I should be getting spark.

I have 94 LS400 lexus and lock myself out and had to get a man to unlock it. Then I go in the car and it wouldn't crank. The battery is good and lights and everything works but when I turn the key it want fire. Please help..

Just read that on another forum, is that a possibility? I wouldn't think so cuz it ran off starter fluid, but I don't know.

when you got locked out, you may have gotten the security system confused

disconnect negative battery cable for an hour, then try again with starting fluid

after it runs again, even briefly, you need to scan this car for DTC trouble codes, using a jumper wire as shown here

after downloading codes, clear ECU, recrank car and then rescan for what codes came back

then come back here and report the codes found before and after clearing

Posted a video of the start up. Sounds like the car is just sitting at like 3,000+ rpms
The other noises were me hitting the gas pedal a tad bit. All it does is slow the motor and make a back fire noise.

Could this still be the cause of bad gas or what?

It could be leaking ECU capacitors. There is a thread LSCowboyLS created on it.

did you ever do the things we already suggested?

before doing anything else, siphon all of the old bad gas out and put 5 gallons of fresh gas in, then download the OBD-I codes using the method I linked you to before - you don't need a scanner - just a short jumper wire
http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html

then once you have written down the codes, double check them for accuracy, clear the computer by disconnecting neg battery cable for a few minutes, then recrank with the starting fluid and then read the codes again and see what came back

Ive drained gas out til the needle was well passed E and added 5 gallons, I then also drained about 3 gallons and added another 4.

ive tried the wire thing to read the codes and it doesn't do anything. I could try rereading it and see if I missed something but ive tried 3 to 4 times with no luck of it doing anything.

go back and reread the procedure carefully again for installing jumper wire and reading the codes, if you still have no luck, then bad ECU capacitors is a very high probability

are you good at soldering and working on precise and delicate things?

the O/D button is off so im not sure why that's going crazy.
Also the a/c is off and I had it in neutral. I have no clue why the check engine light is flashing without any order like it showed in the videos.

that wouldn't work at all - LS400 ECU's are not interchangeable between model years

have you disconnected the negative battery cable on this car for a while to reset the ECU?
