Default Need front Shocks 00 LS

Hey guys. So i searched and found that 1ls and 2ls are interchangeable but NOT the same.

My GF's 00 needs the FR LH shock. I want to replace the front shocks. If i bought KYB shocks, and strut mounts and insulators it'd cost at least $360, and i'd be re using the old springs and have to assemble em.

I found these on ebay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/SENSEN-Front...184c0c&vxp=mtr

complete assembled struts and shocks shipped for $205! They are supposedly compatible with 1ls and 2ls.

What whould you guys do?

In most cases, all you will need to replace is the shocks themselves. Have the other parts on hand and once removed you can determine if the old ones need replacing, if not return them. If that car has seen salt roads, then you might have other parts to replace. I wouldn't buy those strut assemblies, I am skeptical how good it can be.

Lifetime warranty is a PITA to deal with. When the Bilsteins in mine go, I'm not going to bother with warranty, I'll buy adjustable coils.

sensen is cheaply made chinese crap.

The springs willl be fine, and the KYBs for $360 (as you claim, i believe they're a little less) will last you another ~100,000mi. What good are the sensens when I can almost guarantee you they won't last as long.

Also, 1/2 LS have some pretty significant changes in spring length/setup, so i would definitely not touch a spring/shock setup that's supposedly for both. Coilovers are a different matter and this statement doesn't necessarily apply to them.

thanks for the quick response!

The LS has 210k, 185k of which were in boston, so its rusty.

I was thinking of going the used route as well. If i found some lower mileage 95-00 front assemblies for $200 I'd be happy.
my 95 has 149k on her and the suspension is perfect.

Are 95-97 and 98-00 strut assemblies the same??

Want to keep cost at a minimum since we are also replacing the TB and WP. 210k on the original! EEEEKK!!!!

I bought the car in jun 2010 for $3500 so i can't really complain.

$360 would include new shocks, mounts and spring insulators. Anybody found a better price?
