I need some advices on new Shocks..
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum, and I wanted to ask about shocks for my 03 GS 300. I noticed that my car bounces too much now. It is at 99,000 miles. Are those shocks in my car made by KYB? If so, what should I get to replace those? I was looking those Bilstein Sport shocks for my GS, do you guys recommend? Please give me some recommendations, I need to change my shocks soon. Thanks.

I was planning on replacing struts on my 400 too, which is better between gr-2 and bilstein? I have gr-2 on my 430 right now and they ride pretty good, I must say... Just wondering on the ride of the bilstein and how they compare... Any bimmer owners comments are always welcome... lol

If you're considering going stock, back in Feb I purchased a set of 4 OEM struts from Sewell Lexus. At the time I used the "clublexus" discount code to save 10%, for a delivered price of about $260.

Rear sway, front sway, steering rack and of course ALL the front end control arm bushings.
The car feels wonderful !
It actually feels like a sport sedan instead of an old LS with bad shocks.
I have stock springs and stock size wheels / tires - 215/60-16.
But the is a problem now.
The car is so much fun to drive I'm driving faster and enjoying going into corners fast for the fist time.
I need to watch for those cars painted black and white.

I just put on Bilstein Sports on my 01 GS300, and did ALL the DIAZEN bushings too.
Rear sway, front sway, steering rack and of course ALL the front end control arm bushings.

What was the cost for all that, I dont know much about it? I was thinking of getting the Bilsteins Autocross shocks and Eibach Lowering Springs... What ya think?

I wanted a 'sporty' responsive well dampened ride - without ruining the Lexus luxo ride.
With the sport Bilsteins and stock tire/springs - I got what I wanted.
You feel the bumps and ripples in the road around town - unlike the stock setup which feels dead.
But the trade off is fabulous handling on bumps and at speed.
I caught myself with a big grin yesterday going over 105 mph on a bumpy stretch of freeway. It felt rock solid. No way I would have done that before.
(Frug- I should put the old worn out crap back on so I don't lose my DL....)
Oh - the labor for the shocks, and ALL the bushings - sway front & back, steering, and ALL the control arms was $686.
It feels like a real sport sedan now.
Isn't that what this is anyway?
