Electrical Problems
Before I look at my friends LS400, I wanted to post some problems she has with her car.
1. Air conditioner light would blink and shut the engine off, and now the light stays on but no cold air.
2. License plate lights don't work, according to her fuses and bulbs were changed.
3. Drivers seat only reclines on one side.
4. Cig. lighters don't work.
5. Trunk latch inside car doesn't work.
6. Lights inside car don't come on every time the doors are open.

Problems
Sounds weird - If you have the electrical diagrams look for something common to all of the affected systems of course. Many times when there are weird seemingly unrealated electrical problems it turns out to be an open or poor return (ground) path that is shared by all of the affected systems.

First, try a search on each one individually and you will find a lot of good data on each one, take your time and read all the posts, as each case is a little bit different.

any a/c shop should be able to test the a/c system, the compressor probably has a leak and has lost all of the freon. there is a kit to rebuild the compressor, my mechanic did that (the kit) and refilled it for about $400-500

6. Lights inside car don't come on every time the doors are open. Even more common problem, the plunger switches that sense when the door opens and closes wear out, you can often get them to work temporarily by wiggling the switch (inside a black rubber cover on the door frame towards the bottom), they are pretty cheap and easy to replace. read this https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...switch+replace
