Greetings, all. I have a 94 LS400 with 117k on it, and it runs like it is brand new. Wonderful car, with one annoying issue. It began last winter. When the temperature outside at night goes down below 45 degrees (+/-), and then I go to start the car in the morning, the instrument panel lights don't come on. After the car warms up a bit, they flicker on and off (actually, this looks pretty cool...) for a while (a minute?...) and then they come on for good. When I mentioned this to the Lexus dealer, I was told it's a $1000 fix! Does anyone know what's going on here, and how to less expensively fix it? Thanks for your support...

This is a very popular topic here on the forum. The SC models also have this problem as they share many parts. I did a search on this and turned up three pages of results. I have been watching this as my 91 LS with 208k has a speedo that is dimming at the tip. From what I have gleaned from the posts, there is no quick cheap fix. I encourage you to take some time and do a search, read through all results, and determine what the best option for you is.
