needing help to find key fobs
i bought a 1997 ls400 coach edition, and my dad got a 1993 ls400. my dad is wanting the original key fob shell for his 93, and i am needing a key and fob for my 97, i am wanting to keep it as original as possible, but i cant find a website that sells them, i also need to know if it is possible to program the key fob simply or do i need an expert. can someone please help me.
Those key fobs are far and few and for NOS rare. The dealer is big $. I used to buy the fob shells from other Toyota cars on that auction site but they changed the internal design. The internals used to just fit right in but newer designs did not fit the PCB without modification to the shell and PCB. As for programming, the sticky at the top of the forum has the sequence.
Just as a FYI, the owners manuals come up on that auction site from $12-$40. At the time, buying them from the dealer was $125+.

i noticed that the shells from toyota are the same, just with the "T" instead of the "L". got a link to the auction site? PM me pls mike. any case is better than my rigged with a zip-tie mess i have as a fob.
The last Toyota shell that worked for me is labeled:
FCC ID: HYQ1512Y
If you find some, let me know which ones. I gave up after going through 8 or so.
I could buy new ones for the one listed but not at auction prices.
thank you for all of your timely responses, i have already checked ebay, but cant find one like the original, with only the one button on it, do you'll know how well the ones on ebay work? i tried to check the sewell sight and dont see anything key fob related. and info is good info, thank yall.
