Default 1993 LS 400 Coolant Issue

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and I have a question regarding my coolant reservoir. After doing a search of the forum, I was unable to find the answer I was looking for, so I am hoping someone can answer it for me here. I had the coolant flushed about 8k ago and I have noticed crusty pink coolant stains on the reservoir and on the underside of the hood. I haven't noticed them anywhere else, and I am stumped as to what it can be. There car runs fine. The temp is normal. However, I have noticed that the coolant light will come on for a minute and will go away after maybe 90 seconds. Does anyone out there have an idea of what it could be based on the info, because I am stumped? Thanks for the help.

Welcome to Club Lexus!

The reservoir cap is on the way south barring any cracks in the reservoir itself. Change that and I suspect you will be

Thanks I will take a look at the cap. Quick question, I just googled it and tried looking for the cap and all I can find is the reservoir without the cap. Any reason why? Also, is the reservoir alone $170!

Your local Lexus dealer or one of the many online parts suppliers will have the reservoir cap. Sewell Lexus, Carson Toyota are among the vendors for this site. You can call or look them up on the web for parts info. Calling is far easier though.
