Default Rear end thud?

I know various rubber mounts are notorious for wearing out over time.

I searched...blah blah blah.

Now on to the problem.

When I'm driving, if I coast and have my foot off the pedal, and then hit the gas even mildly hard, there's a loud and strong THUD from the back of the car. Nothing in the trunk, so I am assuming a mount of some sort. I'll start with the transmission mount, but I just wanted to check here to see if there are other mounts that may be bad.

trans mount first as it's both the cheapest and easiest one. then i'd look at the driveshaft bushing/flex couple and diff mounts.

Word.

I can get the trans mount practically anywhere and I've seen it takes like ten minutes to a half hour.

Where can I get drive shaft bushings?

Other symptoms of the trans mount is vibration of the gear selector. Mine came out in two pieces at 154K miles. The difference was obvious.

Didn't notice a vibration in the rear but the roads aren't glass smooth so it may be difficult to discern something if it is subtle.

I thought you changed your trans mount?

Indiana roads are terrible, but the ride quality itself is still very good.

I'll probably order the mount within the next few days.

Does anyone have any pictures of people doing the mount change? Just for reference purposes.

it will take longer to do a search and post photos than it will to just get under your car and do it, 8 bolts (or 11 with a shield) that are right in sight.

I found one. I just needed some reference shots.

I'm really hoping all it is is the trans bushing. Anything else would suck, as I have no place to really dig into a car right now.

Especially since it's 13 degrees outside.
