Are UCF10 and UCF20 upper control arms (UCA) exactly the same?
The UCF10 part numbers are:
48610-50020 RH UCA
48630-50020 LH UCA
The UCF20 part numbers are:
48610-59015 RH UCA
48630-59015 LH UCA
I am asking this because the oem UCF20 arms are cheaper. So, if they are exactly the same, we could just buy the cheaper ones to use in first generation LS400s.
Not likely. Maybe PD has more insight on if they are workable. Your Toyota parts guy can cross reference it and verify. That said, people have been using parts cross platform that bolt-up and work. Experimentation is about the only way but that costs $.
Go to a junkyard.......that's what I do. Get a big back pack and stuff em in there and walk right out. At my junkyard they don't check tool bags. Good luck.
The way I see it is, not stealing but, utilizing the selected parts to conduct research in the pursuit of perfection.
I used to go to the junkyard to practice taking stuff apart and then when im ready to work on my car. I would have learned what to do to and not break off any tabs.
...its common that UCF10 parts will work on a 20, but not vice verse. They might bolt up but caster/camber might be different. Although this might be good if your asking for more or less camber in the front. If you can source a pair in a legal manner you should swap them and then have the alignment checked out. This might tell you how much of a +/- caster /Camber difference there is.
This action right here is why the economy is so bad. Companies have been raising prices to accommodate losses. People steel stuff and then the company that its stolen from needs to either raise the price of the ones they have left or promote enough to sell 3 times more to make up for it. If you " not stealing but, utilizing the selected parts to conduct research in the pursuit of perfection" Then yo need to put the old parts into your backpack and return those ones. Steeling is steeling. I'm sure the kids who stole my car(to the second power), or my rims, or my stereo were just" in the pursuit of perfection". Lexus would prolly ban you and take your car away if they heard you using their slogan so you can justify your steeling. you should sell your car and buy a KIA. Those are getting trendy and tuneable.... you are an embarrassment to L owners
