Angry LS400 1991: Disconnected the battery and activated the engine kill switch... help!!

Hello!!

I'm a newbie, in fact I've owned my '91 LS400 for less then 24hrs. I assume this question has been asked a million times (hopefully, I'm not the only idiot) but with no remote, we can't get the engine to restart after disconnecting the battery. Clearly its an engine kill switch issue... can someone tell me what the magic words are to fix this?

Pretty please (batting my eyes)

shut off remote on left side of streeing wheel. not sure that will help but do it anyway. then use the master key you have to lock then unlock the doors. then start the car.

This works for me every time I try it.
The symptom you have on your car has happened a couple times this past week, myself included. Do you have power to everything else, meaning all the dash lights, radio, etc.? If so then it might be the security system. Try to lock and unlock the doors with the key. (You say you don't have a remote anyway?) I usually use the passenger door. If you don't have power to everything then it's not the security system, maybe the battery ground or a relay problem. Why did you disconnect the battery?

I disconnect my battery all the time without an issue, was your car locked when you pulled it?

Sooo, you got it to start? What was the problem, how did you fix it? If it just solved itself, (sometimes ya get lucky) what are some things that might have fixed it? Just wondering so when people search in the future they don't just see "It's fixed" with no explanation on how to fix their car. That's why the search feature is there, to search for an answer. When I search and read through a whole thread and at the bottom all it says is "I fixed it" I get a bit ripped. Please explain a little more then "Problem solved". Thanks.

Okay... so to revisit and complete this post finally. Turns out the wiring had been damaged somehow when the mechanic removed the battery, his attempts at repairing were pathetic to say the least. Three months later I have JUST gotten my car back (had to tow it to the dealership for repair)!!

I'm excited to get it back... now finally on to repairing the suspension. That will be my another post though!
