Default 1999 ls400 electrical issues

Hi all, need your help. I am having issues with my 1999 LS400. Couple of nights ago I noticed headlights did not turn off after the car is turned off, they were set to auto but then I manually set it to off still the light would come back on by it self. I went through one battery got new one now this one is dead too. and I also noticed after turning off the car the gauges would flicker and rpm gauge would go to 2 or 3 then eventually come back down.

Any changes made to the electrical system like aftermarket lighting devices, radio, amp, etc...? When the RPM gauge changed, did the engine RPM also change?

possible your combination switch stalk, aka light switch, is faulty and intermittent. try setting the switch into the off position, then move the end of the stalk around a little. i suspect the connection to be loose.

also make sure your battery terminals are nice and tight.
