Default Bad shifting

So ive left the trac cover off in the engine because im constantly making adjustments to the throttle cable and transmission cable. I messed up the throttle cable where the idle is too high and cant find the right adjustment, The same is true for the transmission cable. Does anyone know what the other cable is for because i made it tighter and the shifting got worse.
My whole reason for the adjustments was because the car was have clunks on downwhifts at like 20-30 km/ph, and it still does....UGH so frustrating

\The problem is, when i was flooring the car it got to about 150 km/ph in etc power with overdrive off to "retrain the tranmission" in an attempt to fix the shifting, The car would not shift into the next gear and was just at the redline it really freaked me out.

I dropped the pan and chanaged the filter 15000 km ago with mobile 1 type IV, people were telling me that i need toyota fluid so i just recently did a drain and fill with toyota oil which really didnt make a difference. Anyone Help here???? I just want to get into my car and expect it to shift smooth.

You need to drop the pan again and completely fill with the Toyota fluid, you still have mostly mobile 1 in there.

Huh, how is that possible? Im not sure but the mobile oil said for importa such as toyota/lexus right on it so i dont really see the difference between that and toyota oil.

I use mobil one in my trans and I have seen people use type 4 Toyota trans fluid and get 300,000 400,000 miles on the Lexus trans I have 258,000 and no problems I also installed a big trans cooler at 50,000 the secret is change your trans oil around 25,000 miles I just open up my cooler at one end and drain 4 quarts into a gallon bottle and refill the trans I drop the pan every 50,000 and no metal there. I also use mobil one on my power steering with a small trans cooler hooked up to it and I change it 25,000 miles and the rear end I use mobil one again 75-90 change it evey 50,000 my last car went 529,000 on all mobil one and nothing went bad just change your oils and your Lexus will go hundreds of thousands of miles I have seen 628,000 and 555,000 miles on LS 400's etc and may more cars with 400,000 plus and nothing wore out that is what makes a Lexus the worlds best car

so the rubber is supposed to be pulled off?

ok i just tried that....I had the cable tight to where the rubber was sitting on the metal stopper pulled off from the thread just like in your picture, the shifting was very hard and harsh...shifting fast. I like it to where you cannot feel the shift. I dont think that is the correct adjustment.

ok here mine is if you can see the metal bulge is pretty much flush to the end of the rubber piece, this is incorrect? also do you know how to adjust the other two cables, i know the one is the throttle but which is the other one?
