Default Where does this connect to? (1990 LS400)

Ok...so this is gonna be kind of a newbie question but here it goes. I was under the hood of my car the other day and I noticed that a single semi-stray hose disconnected from something. I looked around and couldn't find an open port from which it might have came from. Can someone enlighten me to what hose this is and where it should be connected to...

The next pic shows the end of the hose which is not connected to anything...

I just looked at my '93 and it goes upwards and connects to a hard line that runs down the side of the air intake chamber which connects to another soft line which connects to the VSV. You should have an open port next to the other 2 hoses shown in the pic.
For future refrences on any pics you can always look at the tutorials at www.lexls.com They help enormously.

Thanks for the info but sadly I'm still lost. Anybody have a detailed pic of where the hose goes?

I checked the link but most of the pics either show the hose underneath a cover so you can't see it anymore or the pic misses the hose completely. I have also looked on my own but just can't see the port it belongs to.

It should be a little bit higher and to the left of the diagnostic box. If you don't have an open port there then you have your lines hooked up wrong. Or you can open your hood, look on the drivers side to the back of the air intake chamber at the VSV, which is what that line goes to.

If you look at the pics after steps 10,11, and 12 here:

http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html

It looks like it should connect to a U (or C shaped) tube that is part of an assembly that goes back to the Vacuum Control Valve as shown in post 4 here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...code-71-a.html

But it looks like you don't have that tube assembly. Maybe the PO did a mod to remove it. A wider angle photo of the engine on the driver's side would be nice.

Nice that you took the time to find all those pics for him. (Like I went out and looked at my engine) The pic in the second link shows it best but I guess all those lines are run different through the years. (90 to 93) b/c they all look different. Unless mine is wrong, that line goes to the VSV not the VCV b/c that is where it is hooked up. Either way, it goes to the back there on that side.

I appreciate all the help from you guys. Thanks. I actually found where this connect to. It connects to the BVSV to the left of the diagnostic box (driver side view). The reason why I couldnt find it was the fact that the lower port on it was broken off.
