i have a 93' LS400

i just came back from leave and i let my sis use my car...big mistake
apparently its all jacked up

i can feel my LS wont go to 3rd gear.. and after being in second for awhile it idles like crazy as if it went to neutral??? im not sure this LS has been with me for a long time and i plan to keep it.

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME AT LEAST AN IDEA WHERE THIS PROBLEM IS COMMING FROM???

 

First things first and check engine lights?

 

thats right, check all codes, check all fluid levels, manual shift the car thru the gears, first, second, third, and drive...... under power, then come back and tell us what you found.
the answer to your question above is replace the transmission.... for a starting place.

 

Then have sis pay for repairs.

then change the fluid to toyota t-iv (make sure she didnt have some random shop do "work" on it) and then worst case scenario you have to swap the trans, which isnt as bad as you'd think.

 

I am positive that you need to change your transmission filter.
