ucf10 not engaging gear easily
Have a 1990 Lexus LS400
Cars been sitting around for 3 years (did drive every 6 months here n there for various reasons - around 20-30ks)
anyway over the past year the the gearbox doesnt seem to engage in gear straight away, like it takes time to engage in drive and reverse.
So far done a fluid change and makes no difference
The car drives fine when engaged but when i slow down and then take off it takes a time to engage properly
Any ideas wt the the issue could be
Im sure there is much info i havent provided so ask and ill let you know
thanks

what ATF did you use? these transmissions are sensitive to fluid, only toyota type-IV should be placed in them.
what i would guess is that something in the linkage is loose. check that before venturing into the transmission itself.

double check make sure it is not a bit low (engine idling in park), on your A341E transmission, the cold reading and the hot reading often disagree, I would err on the side of slightly too much fluid as opposed to a bit low.
low fluid level is by far the most common cause of slow to engage into gear
