sup fellows, I finally had the chance to take my car to pepboys and decode some lights on my dash. The car feels ok, but sometimes there's lag on the power and doesn't shift smoothly. I'm currently at 133k. Here are the code: P2714, P2757, P0751 and P0894. I've looked at the codes online and they're all related to the TRANSMISSION...the car still runs good, but im afraid that i can no longer use the car for a long trip. any one else here chime with this problem. thanks a bunch...
Changing the trans fluid on this unit is not too hard. First, you need to make sure you have the right tools. The first tool you need to invest in is the Assenmacher (ASMATF11005) from tooltopia.com. It's a bit expensive, but will help you fill your tranny. The other tools you'll need is a 14mm socket, and long 24mm wrench, and a thin 10mm socket. The drain plug for your tranny is at the back of the pan, the 14mm bolt. Once you drain the tranny, then remove all the 10mm bolts around the pan. Drop the pan, and remove the 10mm bolt holding the black filter. Replace the filter, and the pan gasket then reinstall the pan. The next thing to do is look at the driver side of the trans. There is a black plastic cover with two 10mm bolt. Remove those two 10mm bolt,. Behind that cover you'll see a big nut that is a 24mm nut, that is ur fill nut. Before filling the fluid though, you'll have to remove the hex nut on the pan. It's located near the center of the trans oil pan to the side. This is your dip stick nut. Once you get to here, it's easy. Pump 4 qts WS trans oil through the side cover nut with the oil pump tool. Then start your vehicle, and continue pumping through that side oil pump nut until oil comes out of the hex nut hole on the pan. Lock the bottom overflow nut, and close the side nut. Here is a pdf I got from the net http://avtopedia.ru/akpp/a960eaut.pdf. Not too difficult job, but the tool to pump the oil is expensive.
Try changing the transmission fluid first. Could be as simple as dirty fluid.

Gville is right, its easier said than done. these cars shouldnt need a fluid change for basically the life of the vehicle. plus when you get a "fluid change" you never actually get all the fluid, you are just getting a small percentage...
heres an update. the car still runs ok, but there's lag on the power, it feels very sluggish and you can barely hear my intake. this occur once in a while, but its been two consecutive days that my car feels like this. I thought if i could restart the car it will be back to normal, but it didn't. the transmission shifts not as smooth as before, sometimes it takes time to shift from 1 to 2nd gear. I never really use the ect pwr button and i dont know why its doing this.
Chris07is. I do have the same problems as you do. i don't know what to do with it now. don't have time to take to dealers and afraid of it costing too much......you have any updates on how things go?
