Restoring my clean 91 Help!
Restoring my beautiful New Mexico 91 LS400 White/blue int.
I need to find a parts source for :
Instrument cluster (My Speedo needle is winkin out)
AC/TempTime LED (Its blacked out. Who rebuilds?)
Wood/blue console.
Does anyone know if the wood wheels from later Lexi fit?
I filled out a request to TAP, I forgot to put the year, they said resend the request, I did, and never heard back from them.
Soooo if you know another source for used parts lemme know
Thanks for your help and ideas.

Bob,
I have a 91 ls that I am fixing up too, they are great cars.
One thing I can help you find - here is info on the lcd replacement - Mikado gets only good comments here that I have seen click this link http://www.cureline.net/lex/performance/lcdrepair.txt (thanks to retrodrive).
Mikado may do the speedometer too, not sure. Still getting to the LCD myself.
Regards,
rhlight

Thanks for the info rhlight. Quality info.
Does anyone know if the steering wheel from later (wood) fit the 1st gen models...or who re-leathers old wheels, my is
faded...way waay faded. While I repect the original I'd love to have the later wood wheel. I wonder if they ever made it in blue.
Thanks for the info

An outfit called American Stitches, in Texas re-upholsters wheels, and they can even do wood conversions (there was a thread in the GS forum about a month ago regarding a group buy). I was under the impression that you may be responsible for finding a backup wheel while the other is in the shop. They do have some "loaner" wheels, you'd have to check.http://www.americanstitches.com

Talked to Terry at American-Stiches.com today, he said someone named Manta Ray here in club lexus is doing a group buy on wheel recovering. He said that 's the way to go and I agree.
THe deal through Club lexus is said to be very deep discounted.
The company is the real deal.
Now if I can find the big Ray.

About the LED replacement
Some guy on eBay sells his services on eBay...you bid on his listing and you send you LED to his shop and he fixes it for around a dollar. Sorry but I don't have anymore information.

Blange400,
good news on the speedo! Mikado should give us a group buy discount as much business as we send their way. Seriously though, I like helping out small businesses whenever I can, need to keep pressure on the dealer to keep prices competitive and service levels high.
