Reset stock stereo

i just recently purchased a used stereo from the junk yard for my 1994 lexus ls 400 and all that comes up on the read out is SEC

which I believe stands for security. Anybody know how to reset stereo???

Not sure about the 94, but with my old Acura you have to take your vin number to the dealer to get the code. Random code using the presets 1-6.

Sorry haven't dealt with it first hand, Any one else chime in.

I went through this when I bought my 91. I took it to the dealer to have it reset.

yep, takes a code and you only have 3 tries I think before the dealer has to reset it. I had to take mine to them also..

I paid around $100 but there was another thread here that stated someone else was only charged around $50...

I think they charged me $40 and set it to not have the code required after that.
