Default Air Filters?

I am looking for a really good cone type air filter for my 96-LS400.
Anyone have any suggestions besides K&N #2606?
A non replacement type of course!

Default want about 10 hp

there is an adaptor plate for the mass flow meter that will allow you to use a open element filter. I have one on my car and it made a huge difference.

Let me know if I can help.

Hey, thx for the reply! Us LS400 people don't get any attention in here at all....sheesh. What adaptor are you referring to? Where can I get it? Cost? How do I install it? Can you email me a pic of what yours looks like so I can get some idea of what it looks like.
Just let me know and I will give you my email. Let me know if you have AOL instant messaging as well.
Thanks

I have a adapter with a HKS supermega flow conical end. It came off a eclipse GS-T,but the holes needed redrilling. I think a Supra one would work as well.

But the one that I know that will work for sure is a adpater off a SC400.

I just used a toyota mass flow adaptor and a Tsudo stainless steel filter. I didn't dyno it or any thing but you could notice the difference. I'm now in the process of building the acutal intake tube for it. I hope to have pics up soon.
