upgrading to 145 amp Alternator
Hi guys. I'm tired of having my alternator fail due to a small leak from my power steering pump so I decided to replace the pump and upgrade to a 145 Amp Alternator for all the extras i'm running. I would also like to change to a 4 gauge altertnaor cable.
My question is; How long of a cable do I have to get and is there any other cable I should Upgrade/replace while I'm at it?
Thanks again!

You would want your the new battery cable (+) as short as possible, but out of the way of any moving parts.... just try to follow any of the wire looms to make it look clean straight back to the battery.....
Along with a new positive cable, you'd want to upgrade your ground cable. I ran a cable right from one of the alternator mounting bolts, straight to the negative terminal of the battery.....

I'd go 1/0 gauge on all major connections while you are in there, since quality wire costs little more from 4 to 1/0. Crimp and solder (heavy heat solder, almost like brazing) your terminations and shrink-wrap for corrosion protection.
I recommend welding cable or Knukonceptz wiring for the cost per foot and quality.
