Replacement sub for UCF11?
Hey guys, I'm trying to find a suitable drop in replacement for my factory 8" sub that has blown.
I want to stick with the IB/freeair setup, but with the huge range of subs available, it's hard to even think of where to start looking.
I know there's an article on clublexus/lextreme, but it seems that that model sub he used is discontinued, as with a number of subs recommended in the older threads.
Any help is appreciated!

The Kicker Comp is an open air construction. I'm going for a DLS OA in my car, but I recon the Kicker is more widely available.
There are other brands available, but not many.

It should be alright, according to: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/subwoofer.html. He uses a Kicker Comp 8" speaker which is 4 ohm.
But he also points out that there is much to be gained from replacing the factory sub amp with an aftermarket one. (There are other threads on how to find and convert the low-level feeds into standard RCA plugs. Check and search the
Lexus Audio, Video, Security & Electronics subforum.)

it is ok to go to a higher ohm speaker....just not lower unless the amp has a ohm selector
and going to a higher ohm speaker will cause the output of the amp to be less
