Default Door Sensor Problem

Something weird has been happening in my 91 LS400;

The door sensor pins on the pass./drivers side doors go out too far when the door is opened.

If I lightly press on the pin I can find it's correct position, but the pins travel outward too far for the courtesy light to come on adn the car to realize the door is open.

I can't figure out how to fix this for the life of me. Does anybody know what to do? Or at least, why it does this?

If I need to explain more I can try, just let me know.

Thanks,

-Rob.
