Post Power Steering Filter

Hello,

I will be flushing my power steering fluid in my 2LS. I have a few people mentioned that I should have the "filter" changed or cleaned. Some of them mentioned that there's a filter at the steering rack that needs to be cleaned as well, or is that the same filter? PLMK. Thanks in advance guys.

There's a solenoid that has a screen on it.

I don't know about here but I've seen pictures of it over at Lexus Owner's Club.

Post p/s filter

J,

So that is the only filter, or are there more than one? Where is this filter located, at the pump or rack? Thanks man.

Thanks! I'm assuming you changed your rack right? How much did you end up paying? The cleaning of the solenoid...would most mechanics know how to go about it? The reason is that I have a p/s pump leak. I was thinking about changing the pump and while I'm at it change the pressure hose as well. So other people are suggesting other things that I might as well get done as well. Any more advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

B,

The filter in the reservoir is that part that just costs like a few bucks right? Let me know. Thanks.

I believe the solenoid is behind the front drivers wheel?
