94 LS 400 Wheel Bearing Repair ???
Can anyone help me with the time and difficulty in replacing my right rear wheel bearing by myself (or post a DIY guide with pictures)? The Dealer said it would cost $1200 and NTB said it would cost $850.00 with 3 1/2 to 4 hours of Labor (seems like a lot of hours???). I have purchased the OEM Wheel Bearing, Hub & Inner and Outer Seals for $270.00 from IronToadbut not sure how difficult it will be to install myself? Do you have step by step instructions because I do not have an instruction manual. Have replaced bearings on a Chevrolet Impala, but imagine this is a little more complicated. Thanks for any help or advice. Tyndale Cobb

Just had this done on my 94.
The spindle/knuckle has to come off the car for you to use a hydraulic press to put the new bearing in.
My mechanic replaced my spindle (I bent mine!) & installed a new bearing, replaced rear brakes & replaced my antenna for $240.00 labor only.
I paid for all the parts seperately.

it's a pretty involved process.
removed brake caliper and rotor. remove control arms from knuckle. remove axle. pop ball joints out.
take knuckly assy off car.
remove retaining rings from bearing. remove wheel speed sensor.
press out bearing with shop press.
press in new bearing. install new seals.
reinstall inreverse order.
yes it's quite a few hours work.
if you lived in my area i'd do it for $200.

When you have the spindle off make sure & check the condition of the largest of the rubber bushings integral to the spindle.
You may not like what you find. I sure didn't!
BTW, a rear bearing was only an $84.00 dollar part.
Paid $180.00 for a new spindle.
