Default Buying New Lug Nuts

As some of you may know, I recently purchased 18" Chrome LS430 wheels. I'm buying the OEM lug nuts, but I don't know if I should go for the shorter or longer ones.

What are you guys are running?

id get the longer ones, they wont stick OUT of hte face of the wheel but itl be easier to get a socket on them which means less possible damage to the chrome

+1 as always

with stock wheels you need to purchase the longer one for sure. if you have aftermarket wheels than you will use the shorter ones. since you don't want the lug nuts to bottom out. you can see how thick the stock wheels are around the hub.

Actually their are 4 sets of Lexus nuts, the long and the short ones
then the wheel centric ones which have a large cylinder on the inner diameter above the taper and then the ls460 nuts.

The wheel being oem has nothing to do with whether it uses long or short . It has to do with the design of the wheel and if it has a lower offset pulling the hub further in to need long or short nuts.

Aftermarket wheels use normal taper nuts which angle around the outside to position the wheels. It is the reason why you have to use X cross style when snugging up the nuts to center and torque them properly . While LS 400 short nuts have that round seat to center then the flat washer to hold the wheel tight against the hub. This is also used with the hub centric design of the wheel to carry all the weight on the center hub radius for centering and load.
