Default noob lug nut question

so my brother gave me a set of his old work wheel lug nuts. i noticed the stock ones have washers on them, is it ok to run the aftermarket ones without them?

What wheels are you going to be using them on? OEM Lexus wheels use the flat seat lugs and aftermarket wheels use the acorn style.

Do not ever, ever use aftermarket lug nuts on stock wheels. My friend did that and drove for a few miles and the lug nuts broke and his front wheel went flying on the highway, almost got him killed!

The point is don't use lug nuts that aren't designed for the wheels.
