Oct 31st, 2010 purchased 94 LS400 for $1825, $2000 with tax etc. 250,000 MILES Fell in love right away.
Gauges were not working properly and did not come on in cold, broken antenna, hood shocks not working, 4 different tires, reverse lights not working, was in a minor accident but paint and body looked good minor scratches front right reflector broken. interior leather cracked but everything else looked great. I fixed:

IT RUNS AND RIDES GREAT BUT I WANT IT TO LAST ANOTHER 10+ YEARS. BEST RIDING VEHICLE I EVER DROVE, LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. I HAVE A 78 FORD F350 DUELLY IT GET 5-6 MPG SO LEXUS SEEMS LIKE A HUGE IMPROVEMENT CALL THEM BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

 

Just bought a 94 ls for $2700... It was all bad... Had it checked out and was told the brakes and ball joints needed replacing.... After taking it to toyota I found out it also needed A completely new rack pinion, ball joints, brakes, power steering pumpand lines, cam gear sensor, strut rod bushings, and now the air bag light is on... 4700 dollars layer and I still need to replace the lines and bushing... After that I'll be all good... Wtf.... Body is flawless, interior could use some tlc... Well that's my story... Ohh well you win some you lose some

 

I just paid $5500 for a 1999 LS400 with 139K. Near mint condition inside & out. Needs a couple of things though. Taking it for a timing belt Wednesday...I think it's still on the original belt.

 

$7500 out the door for a 1992 with $60K on it.

 

WOW that's a LOT for a 92....

 

Got my '93 three or so years ago with 128k on the clock.

Got her in a trade with a family member +$4500 for my Taurus worth $6k, because it was neglected by the previous owner and they got a $5000 estimate from the family mechanic. She's still touchy, but I love driving it. I did all of the work myself (except the motor mounts) for about $1500 in parts.

Everything was original, except for an o2 sensor.

 

That's about double what you should have paid, even if it just had the 60K service. Sure, it only has 60 thousand dollars.....,I mean miles on it which is low but, it's still a 20 year old car.

 

I'm a lucky nephew. My uncle is retiring, and just bought a new Tacoma, and gave me his 1992 LS400!

It was a British Columbia, Canada, car. He's had it for 9 years. Not a spot of rust or damage, save a small dent on the hood by the passenger windshield wiper mount, where a tree branch fell a few years ago. He had a 7 hour checkup done by his Lexus dealer, where they changed all the fluids and inspected everything. They didn't have the pads in stock, or he would have done that, too! Then he drove it across the continent to deliver it to me! He said he wouldn't drive it enough in his retirement to justify keeping it, and hated to see it go to someone who might not take care of it. I've promised to keep it in good health, and for as long as possible.

I've got to get the front brakes and rotors done soon, and fix the lcd on the climate control from one of the ebay after market shops. And I'm booking a rust proofing treatment ASAP. I've put new Michelin X-ice snow tires on it already, ready for our rugged Atlantic Canadian winter.

I passed on my 2001 Jetta tdi to my middle son, and have taken on this beauty to drive!

 

Just purchased a 1994 LS400 3 weeks ago. Silver over Black, 6k original, $6800. Original window sticker shows MSRP of $56k.

Car is in immaculate condition, the paint sparkles, the interior is in great shape. Replaced a busted rear seat belt, front brakes, and a few light bulbs, and have just had a remote start installed. I'm incredibly happy, she drives like a brand new car!

 

@ Puredrifter and @ deanshark...yeah, it was something like $6000K so with all the reg and tax and other fees it almost came to $7500. Sounds like a lot, i know, but the car is in MINT condition, its like a time warp. Plus it had everything completely serviced including the timing and all that. Not to say that it has every single service record from Lexus in Beverly Hills. And it runs amazing, I actually bought it for my dad, but love this car so much that i gave him my 2009 Infiniti M45 instead, lol

 

That's good that ya like it and everything but for that price you could have gotten a 98-2000 with about the same mileage. But with these cars the mileage doesn't really matter except for the T-belt service on the 95 and up. The thing that would worry me is the fact that it's a 20 year old car. All the bearings and rubber items (bushings, motor and tranny mounts) that are on the car which deteriorate over time, especially with the heat and salt water air out there in Ca. But hey, if you're happy that's really all that matters. It was just a "sticker" shock for me.

Not sure where you are located, but in LA or near vicinity it is impossible to find the LS you mention for the price you mention. Anyhow, the car i bought was owned by an old lady who barely drove it into town over the years and kept it garaged at all time. As i said, it is a TIMEWARP, lol. Seriously, everything on this car is like brand new, it is almost unreal...

I bought my 1990 for $500 and it wasn't too bad but it needs maintenance things done that hadn't been done to it in years. I put new battery, tires, alternator, tune up and now I'm looking to get the interior worked on. Oh, and just hit 200,000 miles this week!
