Checking engine code question...pic inside
My 95 diagnostic port does not have a metal pin in the port to check the engine codes?

It's a 95
There is another black port next to the white one, could this be the one I need to jump?

the one you want is located a bit lower and is a black plug that is trapezoidal in shape.
to read the codes ul need a OBDII code reader, either buy a cheap one ($40) or rent one for free from kragen/advance/autozone.
(take a pic lower down)

np, good luck with that, sounds like a dead "A" or "B" solenoid.

It drives fine, I don't feel any difference when the light came on and ECT was blinking. I guess I will drive it like this for a little bit, while I do research on the cost to fix it.
Thanks

It would have been easier to just look at the end of the scan tool and look at both holes!
I remember getting a check engine light on a previous car of mine and borrowed a scanner and I accidentally erased the code off the car. I didnt even get the code number either.
