mmmm...I replaced the worn out rear pads a month ago and the front are still good. Unless the the sensors are broke, it can't be that. I've really had a hard time trying to figure out this one out.
Any one else?
i was told by my automotive instructor (suspension and brakes) that for lexus/toyota, when that light comes on and you change out the worn pads for new ones, the dealer has to reset the light. so you gotta try and change out your pads before the light turns on... might have to take it to the dealer, or maybe disconnect your battery for like 10 mins, see if that works..
Its the Brake wear Indicator light. It goes off when your pads wear down, but once the sensor breaks, you have to replace it. There are a few threads about this on clublexus... one where a guy repaired his, and one showing the cheapest place to obtain one.

It is also in your owners manual.
I looked and couldn't find it in the owner's manual. I guess i missed it!
I guess it has to be the sensor then...I remember taking it off and it was kind of worn out (the sensor) and it was a pain to put it back in.
I'll have to just buy the sensors to get rid of this annoying light.
Well, that solves my mistery. Thank you all for the input. I can stop wondering about this light now.
do a search for brake sensor in this forum, theres a guy who re-used his by soldering the connection together. otherwise the price ranges from $50-85 for a new one.
but id make sure i plugged the old one in before i bought a new one.
I have bought Lexus LS400 few weeks ago and I don't have owner's manual so I can't figure out what this strange 'oil control' means. It looks like oil control but it has kind of a wave under it. The whole symbol is yellow and it is at the bottom of a desk control. The car is fabulous but very complicated, I would say, too complicated for me Sorry for strange talk, English is not my first language... Hope you can help me...

Thats the LOW OIL LEVEL light. Check your oil (when the engine has been off for 5mins), and add some more if needed, or your oil level sensor is out.
