Default 90 LS400 250K strange flapping noise

Searched suspension threads but did not see this one. Car makes an intermittent flapping noise. It sounds like the noise your shoe makes when the sole is coming off and you continue walking and the sole slaps on the pavement. Seems to happen more when car is just started and it is colder out. Happens on smooth pavement, and small bumps. Have air suspension, shocks do not seem to be bottoming out, nor is there excessive rocking over bumps. Just had new lower ball joints put on at a shop. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I can't imagine these being good on your car if you haven't replaced them.

Mine is a 93 with 160k and there was no rubber left. Caused clunks/flaps from the rear end. Even if it's not your problem, you should make sure these are solid.

Are these the bushings everyone says squeek? Right now I don't have a squeek, and don't want to have one. I have avoided attacking bushings because all the threads seem to have folks saying they squeek after a while. Is there is no way to get OEM? At least we know those don't squeek. Thanks.

they squeak because people are lazy and wait too long to grease them. when poly bushings start to squeak all you do is grease them a bit and theyr fine.

then how about drilling the arm and installing a zerk fitting so that you don't have to take the bushing apart again to grease it? Has anybody mentioned any issues with doing that? As far as I have seen, the suspension arms on this car are made of iron and not aluminum, so they should be able to take it. Another thing - I know the rear axle carrier arm bushing is supposed to be the same between the UCF10 and UCF20 models, but what about the other bushings on the knuckle?
