replace master window switch

Where can I get info on replacing a master switch? I took my car to a window tinting shop and the guy used something to close the window for me (my wife subsequently let it back down, GRRR!) and now I

want to do the job and save myself some $$$

call the dealer to get a price. then, when you regain consciousness,
look on ebay. i got one for about $45.00, incl shipping. works great.

check the LS classified section of this forum to see if anyone is parting out. Also check EBAY as well. Both are great outlets and work just as well. FYI-- MD price for that part is $650 for the LS.

I have had master switch problems in a '91 MR2 and a '91 LS400--both the same thing--burned ontacts. I took the switch out--pops out from the end away from the wheel and unhook the wires. Take the covers off until you can access the contacts with a piece of sandpaper or nail file. You will see the black soot from the contact burning. Clean up the contacts and put everything back together and it should work perfectly. Probably the hardest part is not having a heart attack prying the switch out from the back with a flat instrument.
