Smile 1990LS400 Engine Swap

I just bought this LS and I have a strange problem with it. When you get up to about 50 to 60 MPH the car slows down and then eccelerates. It fells like you loose power then gain it back but it only does it at this speed? The car did have a motor swap. It has a 1992 motor and trans in it ,is 300 wheels and a real HID kit with 8000k bulbs. The car is nice but this problem sucks. There are other problems but I will address them later.
Any help would be appreciated.

there is no such thing as a "real" hid kit that uses 8000k bulbs...

no...its not.

REAL HID is between 4300-6000k. anything above that doesnt really improve on halogens and the color actually fatigues your eyes. do a search in the lighting forum

He didn't say that the 8000K was better and I think he meant that he installed HID kit with balasts/bulb and all the HID stuff that comes with a kit ( and not one of those fake blue bulbs). Doesn't matter if its 8000K or even 10000K...the fact is it's HID. I dont care what the HID forum says.....the numbers are just the colour temp. Just because its 8000K , that doesn't mean that its fake. Perhaps it has non-natural colour is the correct description.

Yeah yeah...u are right about the fatigue part though. I do persoanlly recommand 4300K for best lighting performance.

Do your regular maintenance and see if the problem persists.
And what do you know about the "swapped 92" engine in there? mileage? why did they replace the original one?

Response to HID KIT-I was wrong the balast is 10,000k with the ds1 bulbs.

And I don't know much about the swap but I was told that if the ecu is not a 92 ecu that might be the problem. I am going to have the trans fluid changed and have the car checked for any other issues. I was told by a Lexus dealer tech that it might be the torque converter might be locking up and realesing. He said it was a common problem with this model along with telling me that the parts on the car were not stock<lights, rims, tint, and motor>. With alot of attitude that he likes cars with OEM parts only then walked away! I am going to have the car repainted and would like to do some engine mods but don't know what to use. Any PICS or recommendations would help too.

one thing u could do is check the driveshaft bushings and make sure both the shart and the yokes are greased.
