Default Hardwire radar in LS400

Alright so my friend and I have been trying to figure out how to hardwire my passport 8500
He cant find a wire to connect it to, any help????

Pull down the rearview mirror, and plug it in from there.

it is very easy if you have lights above rearview mirror pop the lense should see a few screws pull those screws i had to punch a small hole in headliner above mirror sun shade use a volt meter and t tap hot wire from light bezel Qs give me a call i can walk you through in a few minutes

Exactly.

The 8500 was never meant to be "hardwired." Escort makes other products for this purpose.

Thats like converting a cell phone to a regular landline...

There are 2 ways to power the 8500:

      Both of these options allow the device to remain completely portable.

      The 8500 was never designed to be permanently hardwired to the vehicle.

      Every radar detector is "portable"

      Valentine1, which I own, uses a standard telephone cord as a power cable. I ran mine down the trim of the windshield and spliced into the fusebox. Most radar detectors come with a spiral-like power cord and a straight power cord.

      Yes I bought the smart cord that is made to be wired to your car. Just couldnt find a wire to connect it to
