Lost remote
I think it wore through the little plastic ring on the key ring and finally its gone. 96 LS400. Does anyone know how much another one is approximately? Any other options? That was the only one I had, if that's important.
Thanks all,
Dean

The FCC ID number is on the back of your old remote. This is the way to match compatibility to your car. Once you have established that you have the proper remote, there is a sequence to follow to get the new remote accepted by your ECU. Very easy.
The 95-97 remore ID is:
FCC ID: HQWDT-C
Canada 1551-K1420
Canada 210

Yes, hence the subject line. I was explaining the ID numbers so you understood what they were if you go looking for them on that auction site.

Now you can search the auction site.
These remotes are in demand so the prices I last saw a month back were running $35-$42 dollars. Some have gone as much as $60
If there is a Buy It Now for ~$39, buy it and save yourself the agony of a bidding war.
Then you can shop for a new case in the regular Toyota remote section of that auction site. The "NEW" Avalon and Camry remotes sell from $12-$20...just toss the internals and snap the new case around te Lexus circuit and you have a nice newish remote.
