1st Gen LS vs Cadillac Deville/Lincoln TownCar. Which have the softest ride??
Are the 1st Gen LS400 comparable to the 94 & up Cadillac Deville & The 98 & up Lincoln Towncar in ride quailty/ quiet cabin? I have never driven in a Lincoln or Cadillac so I don't know much about them. But I notice alot of elderly people with them. Why is that? Are they just the smoothest car out??
Ps.. Im not thinking about getting one I just want to know how they compare againist the LS400.

Pole Position
The Caddies & Lincoln will be the more softer, plush & floaty riding car compared to the LS. Not to say at all that the LS isn't extremely comfortable especially on long drives. The way the cars are designed & the suspension set-up's are just completely different. As an example, the seats are very comfortable but more firm in the LS.....the Caddy & Town Car are much less supportive & you will find that your backside & lower back itself get's sore after being on the road for a long time.
The LS will actually have some handling prowess where as the Town & Deville are so mushy there is no feedback whatsoever & is very cumbersome around town with excessive body lean in corners. It's hard to compare the differences between the big 2 North American luxury marks to Lexus' Flagship.
You better off seperating them & putting all North American luxury cars such as the Town & Deville in one basket & the Lexus in another one that would be better put up against Mercedes Benz, Jaguar & other european makes. As they are totally different animals.....if you want to really find out for yourself.....drive all 3 (Deville, Town Car & the LS) to get a more comprehensive idea of what I have mentioned. Hope this helps.

I would add that it also depends if you are considering the air suspension option. The air suspension in the 1st gen ls is amazing. Here is some more info if you are interested...
